My Ideal Work Place
May 15, 2008 at 3:07 pm | Posted in Manifestations, Rantings and ravings | 2 CommentsI’m super free today, and had a talk with a colleague who was thinking of quitting, so i thought i would spend my time doing something positive, which led me to writing this vision. I had the guts to email this to the entire office, though i didn’t reveal its source. Wonder what kind of response this would receive…
Anyway, here it is:
My Ideal Work Place
I work in a beautiful, love-filled environment where we spend our time and energy for the highest good of all those around us, including ourselves. Words like doubt, suspicion, gossip, competition are alien to the minds of all those who work in this place; our minds and hearts are open, and we expect only love and harmony to enter our door.
In this heaven on earth, we assume that everybody else wants the best for us, and in return, we want the best for them. We do not impose our definition of “best” on anybody else; because everyone has a different idea of what “best” means. But because of our pure and loving intentions, our actions eventually merge into a beautiful symphony that allows all of us to fulfill our highest potentials.
Because we are all imperfect, we view other people’s flaws as a reminder of our own flaws, and we thank them for becoming our teachers, in helping us to develop and refine ourselves. Through our own self-reflection and self-development, we also become teachers to our co-workers, inspiring them to clear away their own inner debris, so that their brilliance can shine through.
Despite our different designations and job scopes, we do not forget that we are all travellers on the same spiritual path, and we support one another in this often challenging journey. When we see fellow travellers who become weary and start to falter on the way, or those who become distracted and go in the wrong direction, we do not judge, nor turn our backs on them. We simply send our light to them, in the most gentle and loving way, and hope that they will receive the strength and inspiration they need to continue on this journey.
In this place, differences are a valued fact of life. We see one another as shining jewels, each with its own unique size, shape and colour, and no one is better than the other. Meetings are exciting opportunities to explore one another’s different perceptions and understandings of situations, and the only agenda is to find out how we could put our strengths together to serve others even better. We see ourselves as team members who help one another to bring the ball nearer the goal. Whoever shoots the goal doesn’t matter – we are all winners.
I work in this place because I am worth it. I deserve to come to work everyday with enthusiasm and joy in my heart, knowing that today is yet another day where my fellow mates and I can shine our light into this world. This is a place where I am surrounded by love and support, and we help one another to help other people. A place where light grows with each day.
I do my best to make sure I only add on to this light, so that I continue to be deserving of such a wonderful workplace. On bad days when I don’t feel like I’m able to give any light, I allow my heart to stay open so that I receive light from my co-workers. In this way, I allow the blessings of this place to multiply, and I remain in constant gratitude for it.
End of the day update: A colleague replied to tell me it was apt, and reminded him to keep a positive mindset. Another colleague replied to joke that he just gossiped with me yesterday – in my reply to him, i reframed it as sharing.
Just before i left for the day, my president came to my cubicle to share with me that she had specifc ideals for the workplace which she hoped our new ED could work towards, and my email was rather timely.
I guess when truth is expressed from the heart, it will usually be received well. I would like to think that because of my email, my colleagues were kinder and more thoughtful towards one another. One colleague who is a jovial fella but whom i seldom interact with, responded to my sneeze with an, are you ok? I thought that was unusually sweet.
But at the end of the day, i think the person who benefit most is myself. I really like this vision of mine, and i reread it a couple of times. After work, bits and pieces of what i wrote remained in my mind, reminding me to do my part in maintaining this vision. The great thing about writing such idealistic stuff, is that it keeps me on my toes too, and of cos, that helps me to reach my ideals.

Will this vision become your focus of attention? Maybe by focusing on it while tapping on the obstacles within, this could be manifested for you and your workplace. A little Ho’oponopono might help

Yup, it will be my focus. I’m manifesting this for my workplace. Ho’oponopono sounds gd, but it’s really hard to practice cos i honestly cannot see how i can relate office issues to internal issues that need healing. ???
