Brain candy/Computer games not so bad

This article, received in my homeschooling mailing list, is quite a shocker as the writer challenges the notion of computer games being bad for a child’s development. Mr Gua Gua would prob love this article as he has been trying to tell me that his games has helped him develop a gd sense of direction, analytical thinking, etc etc. Well, of cos, even if computer games are a gd thing, there is always such a thing as too much og a gd thing. Perhaps i may reconsider this computer game thingy after all, albeit with the appropriate limits!

You may check this article out if you’re interested… the writer puts up a convincing argument, and i think the most impt message that stood out for me is to not criticise something based on surface value, nor accept or reject stuff just because of tradition or popular opinion (essentially the message from the Kalama Sutta), that applies not just to computer games but everything else in life.
